ANNOUNCEMENTS

Due to the announcement of an outbreak of RHDV2 in Florida on October 19, 2021, Rivenzale Ridge has once again been required to quarantine our rabbitry according to USDA guidelines through November and December. During this time, all transactions involving the transfer of animals from or to our farm are on hold. This quarantine period is scheduled to expire on December 17, 2021, provided that no new cases are confirmed in the intervening time. As a result of the outbreak this past January, we have already been upgrading biosecurity measures and increasing our sanitation protocols, so we are optimistic that our animals will be perfectly fine through this new outbreak. We ask that everyone in the rabbit community partner with us to ensure this virus was not allowed to spread, and please vaccinate your animals if at all possible. In the interest of protecting our animals and our buyers, we will not be reopening our property to visitors. We will continue to update this space as new information emerges, but we are hopeful that the spread of RHDV2 will begin to decline across the country as imported and domestic vaccines become more readily available. This is a developing situation, which will require everyone's best efforts to prevent the spread of this incredibly fatal virus. For more information, please review the RHDV2 column on our Links page.
