     Dora is a New Zealand outcross containing 25% Flemish Giant. She is incredibly sweet, and she is a great mom. She came to us from a farm in Ocala, and has been here with us since she was just a couple of months old. She was an integral part in our breeding program's foundation. We began by crossing her back to our chestnut New Zealand buck, Waffles N Java, to get her temperament incorporated into our lines. Our goal was to keep her growth rate and temperament, while improving on head type and fur type for showable descendants. We successfully obtained chestnut offspring from this pair, which we plan to cross back to red and white New Zealands to produce both varieties in our program.

     After obtaining three beautiful litters from Dora, we are retiring her from breeding, and she will live out her life here as a well loved girl for whom we are very grateful. We opted to retire her after she had some difficulty maintaining body condition while raising her third litter. We always prioritize the health of our animals, so seeing her lose a bit of weight was enough to tell us she was done. She will not be sold to another home, as we are quite attached to her here. We are so thankful to have had the chance to raise amazing litters out of this wonderful girl.
