After a rocky start to the breeding season, we've got our first round of kits due in November. Unfortunately, we also got word this morning that a new outbreak of RHDV2 has popped up in a neighboring county, so all sales are on hold until the new quarantine period is up. Barring any new cases, this will be in December, giving us plenty of time before the kits are due to be weaned in January. Thankfully, we have been operating a closed rabbitry since the first outbreak earlier this year, and we have brought in no new rabbits in several months. This means that our rabbits' risk of exposure is incredibly low. If you have not yet reserved your spot on our waiting list, now is a good time to do so!
In other news, we will have our fresh sourdough starter available for purchase in 16 oz. increments. This is an organic sprouted unbleached multigrain starter comprised of rye, spelt, and wheat flours. It is very active and aromatic. It is also very hardy when stored in the refridgerator.
This autumn, we are planning to start sage, barley, oats, and lavender indoors to transplant outdoors when the weather warms, God permitting. We hope to make some of our herb plants available for purchase in spring 2022.
In preparation for our busy season, we have added a scheduling application to the website, which can be found on the Contact page. Using this application, users can book consultations (a new paid service we are offering our community), or schedule a chat with us about our breeding program. We hope this will make these services more streamlined for our clients. We are eager to hear from you. If you have any thoughts about how we can improve this service, please fill out the contact form. As always, if we can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out via text, email, social media, or phone call.
