Last night around dinner time, Dora kindled a litter of six healthy babies! These are 87.2% New Zealand, and 12.5% Flemish Giant. We elected to incorporate Flemish Giant into our New Zealand lines for temperament. We are now breeding back to New Zealands with each generation to correct the stunted growth rate caused by the Flemish content, and to ultimately produce show quality New Zealands again. In this litter, we have five white or pointed white and one black kit. Dora kindled at feeding time, had her dinner, then went back to the nest to check on her babies. She is getting prebiotics, red lentils to supplement her regular feed, and dandelion for milk support. All kits are spoken for. We will make our first attempts to sex them in a few days, then recheck in a couple of weeks, and again at pickup. Photos will come as the kits make their way out of the nest box. We are absolutely thrilled for these babies!
The birth of this litter also means that Cass and Penny should each kindle within the week. We are so proud of each of these girls, and we look forward to seeing how these kits develop. Be sure to read our Sale Contract and fill out our Sale Inquiry if you would like to be placed on our waiting list. As always, please reach out if you have any questions. All females are spoken for until further notice.
